About ICR

Stuart MacDonald, FRSA and Sharon Memis, FRSA, founded ICR to meet an urgent need for more and better international engagement and collaboration.

The international environment is increasingly contested at a time when complex global challenges need collaboration rather than competition.

Traditional institutions including Governments struggle to manage change. NGOs are single-issue and dependent on a fragile and compromised donor economy. Large businesses and corporations are challenged by the adverse consequences of globalisation, social opposition and political backlash.

In the aftermath of the 2016 referendum on EU membership, brand UK has taken a hit. Whatever the final outcome, international bridges for engagement will need to be built. This will require a sophisticated understanding of influence and new international strategies for organisations in the UK, EU and globally.

We believe therefore that a small company can provide the strategic focus, targeted services and products, and agility, that governments, civil society and businesses need to help them manage global programmes and engagement successfully.

As an ethical business we are committed to doing so in a way that contributes to the common good, hence our commitment to SDGs and the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact.
